Build A Multiplayer Kart Racing Game In Unity Course. This course takes you step-by-step through the process of setting up and developing your own karting game using Unity 2019 and the Photon networking tools. The course begins with a detailed explanation of Unity\u2019s vehicle physics system. A four-wheeled car is built from scratch using wheel and rigid body colliders, where every setting is checked and all possible functions are tested and tuned to achieve the right balance between slip, acceleration, braking and weight. This system is then transferred to a high-quality karting model and placed in a racetrack environment where AI mechanisms are added to develop non-player character vehicles that can effectively drive around the track and avoid or, in some cases, collide with other players. You will end up with a full single-player karting game where one player competes against three NPCs. Race locations are calculated and a heads-up display (HUD) is added, including a rear-view camera, minimap, and player leaderboard. You will also learn how to implement a camera tracking script that you can use to switch between players for different viewpoints. Once the single-player game is complete, the Photon API is used to set up a main server, and then multiplayer is added to the game so you can play with your friends. You will learn how to create your own server, send remote procedure calls to other players, and instantiate network objects, some of which are AI characters. By the end of this course, you will have covered a wide range of game development techniques from AI, networking, and UI creation.
