Rust is a system programming language that you can use to write high performance programs. It\u2019s surprisingly refreshing with a very helpful compiler that coaches you from the start. Given that the WebSocket protocol is key for real-time applications, where reliability and speed are important, it\u2019s no surprise that Rust is the best choice for implementing WebSocket servers. Also, since Rust can now run in the browser, thanks to WebAssembly, we can also use Rust on the client. This means that a real-time, chat-like application can be coded 100% only in Rust! This is what we will do in this course! We\u2019ll use Tokio and Rocket on the backend, Yew Web Assembly and Trunk on the frontend, and end up with a full-stack Rust live chat app. As we do so, we\u2019ll learn how to set up a WebSocket connection, send\/receive messages, and update application state.<\/span><\/p>\n
