Scaler Music Scaler is a tool for composers and music producers that helps them discover new ideas, solve harmonic problems, and improve their unfinished works in a completely new way. The software allows the user to accelerate their musical development with a variety of chord sets and scales. Scaler 3 simplifies the composition process by providing powerful and intelligent tools, allowing the user to create harmonious chords and catchy melodies without the need for complex theory knowledge. With MIDI and Audio recognition capabilities, the software quickly identifies the key and scale of the piece and suggests appropriate chords, which makes it an invaluable tool for music producers of all levels.
Program features and functions
- Chord and Scale Sets: Hundreds of chord and scale sets categorized by mood, artist, and style. Scaler 3 has greatly expanded the number of these sets and made them easier to work with.
- Create Chord Progressions: Using the Sequencer, you can create chord progressions and get suggestions based on your current chords.
- VST/AU Plugin Support: Play your favorite instruments with a host of VST/AU plugins, even effects.
- MIDI and Audio Recognition: With powerful MIDI and Audio recognition, Scaler can identify the key and scale of your music and suggest chords that match your piece.
- Standalone mode: This software has a Standalone mode that allows you to work on your computer without the need for a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).
- Motions Library: A large library of Motions allows you to play chords as melodies, arpeggios, bass lines, and strums, and edit them using the piano roll editor and Note Properties.
- Circle of Fifths: You can check the Circle of Fifths to find chord substitutions and extensions.
- Solving Modulation: Solve your modulation puzzles in five ways: Progression, Secondary Scale, Modal Interchange, Mediants, and Neo-Riemannian.
- Voice Grouping: Experiment with Voice Grouping to keep your chords within a specific range or apply different voicings like drop voicing and guitar voicing.
- Internal Sounds: There are fifty internal sounds to play your inputs, chords, and progressions, and you can also load VST/AU instrument plugins.
- Bind to Keyboard: Use this feature to control chord playback with notes, for single-finger chords, arpeggios, etc.
- Discover new chord expressions: On the Colors page, discover new chord expressions like substitution, inversion, variation, voicing, and extension.
- Sketch Pad: On the Sketch Pad page, you can place seven progressions with different motions side by side for comparison.
