Description
Hands-On AI: Implementing Agentic Systems. This course is a comprehensive, practical guide to designing programs that actively and autonomously pursue specified goals. Agentic AI shifts the programming paradigm from a reactive model to goal-oriented pursuit, and while familiar programming languages may be used, the infrastructure and architecture of these systems are quite different. In this course, software developer and project manager Keith Casey first outlines key architectural changes and then reinforces learning with three hands-on projects. Key topics include an introduction to agent-based systems, the characteristics of effective agents, the difference between reactive and proactive agents, related architectures and frameworks, authentication, authorization, and the principles of decision-making and prioritization. More advanced topics such as reasoning, uncertainty management, and decision auditing are also covered. Three real-world case studies, including reviewing issues on GitHub, scheduling an appointment, and booking a trip, give participants the opportunity to face real-world challenges and test their knowledge. The course concludes with a look into the future and an examination of complex issues like privacy that developers will face.
What you will learn
- Fundamentals of Agent-Based Artificial Intelligence: Learn what agent-based agents and systems are and how they are distinguished from reactive agents.
- Architecture and Frameworks: Learn about AI Agentic architectures, how to authenticate and authorize data and actions, and principles of decision-making and auditing.
- Practical Projects: They complete three practical projects: reviewing issues on GitHub, scheduling an appointment, and booking a trip.
- Real-world challenges: They face real-world challenges, such as filtering noise on GitHub and using a Slack workspace, and learn solutions to them.
- Future Issues: They will learn about important issues such as privacy, security, auditing, and transparency in agent-based systems.
This course is suitable for people who:
- Software developers: Those who want to shift their skills from traditional programming to designing agent-based AI systems.
- Project managers: Individuals seeking to better understand architectural and technological changes in AI-based projects.
- AI enthusiasts: Anyone interested in the future of AI and its practical applications in solving complex problems.
