Description
The KORG Collection is a collection of software synthesizers that meticulously recreate the original sound and performance of legendary KORG synthesizers for the present and beyond. The project began with analog synthesizers such as the MS-20, Polysix, and Mono/Poly, and gradually expanded to include beloved digital synthesizers such as the legendary microKORG, the classic M1 and TRITON workstations, and the renowned Prophecy physical modeling synthesizer. The collection also includes the ARP ODYSSEY and ARP 2600, both of which have been revived by KORG for the 21st century. A veritable museum of synthesizers across generations, the KORG Collection 6 preserves and recreates the legendary sounds that have shaped the music, culture, and technology of every era.
In 2025, Korg added three more legendary instruments to its collection; each an icon of its era, admired for their distinctive presence, and whose sound has been heard in countless classic pieces over the decades.
Program features and functions
- TRINITY: Released in 1995, this pioneering synthesizer defined Korg in the 1990s. Its sleek silver body, futuristic TouchView GUI (the first synthesizer to feature touchscreen functionality), and large-scale, high-quality PCM sound set new standards for synthesizers of the time. Now, on its 30th anniversary, it has been faithfully recreated in software form.
- PS-3300: Produced for only about five years, from 1977 to 1981, with fewer than 50 units made, this fully polyphonic analog synthesizer remains one of the rarest and most revered instruments in music history. Its massive sound engine, equivalent to 144 MS-20s, is accurately modeled with advanced technology and enhanced with more contemporary and expanded capabilities.
- SGX-2: This high-quality piano sound engine, derived from KRONOS and NAUTILUS, captures the tones of the world’s finest concert grand pianos; these sounds are recorded with full, unlooped stereo sampling for each key. From the natural decay of each note to the organic resonance of chords, every detail strives to realistically reproduce a real acoustic piano.
