Description

ECam software is a reliable tool that allows you to create your own designs and simulate the cutting process with a computer-controlled lathe (CNC lathe). This software allows you to create cutting, drilling, facing, knurling or sanding operations on the workpiece. You can set up each step of the desired process in a graphical environment where you can view and edit 3D elements.

Program features and functions

  • The 3D representation is the actual result of all the toolpath movements applied to the stock model.
  • It is possible to define the most common and repetitive geometric profiles by entering just a few parameters. With this feature, you can create slots, circular grooves, text, regular polygons and more without the need for any CAD tools.
  • The purpose of the TIMELINE feature is to see at a glance which operations are taking up the most machining time. Each operation has a different color and if you hover over it, you can see the corresponding operation in the viewport.
  • Create the necessary documentation for your workshop with one click. This documentation contains all the information needed to set up your CNC machine. The Setup Sheet is an HTML file, so you can view it over your company’s LAN.
  • With tool animation, better understand the created toolpath. You can control the animation speed and see the current position and current feed and speed values.
  • Check the rapid tool impact and see the actual result of the tool movements on the stock.

System requirements

  • A Mac manufactured in 2015 or later is the minimum.  However, a newer Intel-based Mac or an Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) Mac is highly recommended for optimal performance.
