Politics and Economics of International Energy, Offered by Sciences Po. This course examines the political and economic forces that shape international energy systems. You will study the geopolitics of energy, market structures and pricing, the roles of state and non‑state actors, and the challenges of managing fossil fuel dependence while pursuing low‑carbon transitions. Through case studies and policy analysis, the course shows how energy markets interact with security, diplomacy, and development, and reviews policy instruments used to steer energy transitions and meet climate objectives.
