Description

Cockos REAPER is a powerful yet logical software for Windows that allows users to record, arrange, edit and export multi-track audio files. The software offers a wide range of features, yet is very small and lightweight. Its installation file is less than one megabyte and includes many effects and a sample project. REAPER software supports ASIO , Kernel Streaming , WaveOut and DirectSound systems for recording and playback . The software is able to read audio files in WAV , OGG and MP3 formats and records files in WAV format. Users can arrange any number of files in any number of tracks and use audio processing plugins (DirectX and Jesusonic) . In addition, REAPER supports volume and pan controls for each track , a multi-layer Undo/Redo system , and the ability to create user-defined color themes .

System requirements

  • Windows:  XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11 (32 or 64-bit). 
  • Processor (CPU):  REAPER is known for being lightweight, but for large sessions, a modern multi-core processor is recommended.  An Intel Core i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7 is a good benchmark. 
  • Memory (RAM):  4GB of RAM is sufficient for basic use, but 8GB to 16GB or more is recommended for complex projects and extensive use of virtual instruments and plugins.
