Description

EIVA NaviPac software provides positioning and navigation capabilities for surface and/or submarine vessels. The software is available in four different versions and users can choose the version that best suits their needs by reviewing the differences between the versions. Among the four versions, NaviPac Pro is the most complete and comprehensive. Thus, Pro users can benefit from the full range of features offered by NaviPac. This version is specifically designed for hydrographic surveying operations using Multi-beam Echo Sounders, Side-scan Sonars and/or lasers. The software architecture is based on a client/server solution that allows different submodules to be run on each workstation in the network, which increases the system’s flexibility in real-time operations. NaviPac also provides easy configuration of mapping parameters in real-time or offline, including flexible selection of geodetic control parameters such as coordinate origin, image systems, measurement units and geoid models, enabling worldwide operation.

Program features and functions

  • Navigation and Positioning: This application has advanced features to display the real-time and live position of moving vessels and/or subsurface vehicles. This capability includes displaying AIS tracks, manually drawing waypoints, and providing a variety of Runline Patterns such as parallel, intersecting, and star lines. It also provides facilities for controlling multiple vessels simultaneously (Multi-vehicle Runlines) and calculating the distance to the waypoint.
  • Survey Planning: The Configuration Module of NaviPac software allows for quick and easy adjustment of all survey parameters, both in real time and before the project starts (offline). Key features of this section include flexibility in selecting geodetic control parameters such as datums, image systems and units of measurement. Also, shapes and models of vessels can be easily created or imported and saved as templates for later use.
  • Sensor and Equipment Support: The software supports a wide range of sensors and field positioning systems (such as GPS/DGPS/RTK, gyros, compasses, motion/attitude sensors, single-beam echosounders, magnetometers, dynamic positioning (DP) systems, and USBL/LBL/INS systems). Generic input/output (I/O) drivers also allow the user to define or customize I/O drivers for their own devices.
  • Visualization and Display: NaviPac and NaviModel share a common 3D engine, which provides powerful visualization features. Data can be viewed in 2D, 3D , Side View, or over time. 3D Seabed Terrain and Multiple Map Views are also available.

System requirements

  • Recommended:  Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) or higher (eg, Windows 11 Pro).
  • Home Edition:  Not recommended; check with EIVA before installing if you must use it.
  • Virtual Machines:  Not supported for Windows 10 via Parallels Desktop on a Mac.
