What is Generative AI? This course is a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts and principles of generative AI and its key differences from traditional AI. By processing vast amounts of data, AI systems are able to identify complex patterns and relationships. Generative AI uses this ability to learn to create new and original content, including text, images, and code, which is its main and creative differentiator. The course instructor, Keith Harwood, is a member of the New York Times Research and Development team who works on integrating large-scale language models into the media’s reporting and products. He received his master’s degree in computer science from Columbia University and, in addition to teaching introductory AI courses at The Coding School, has focused his professional expertise and focus on the areas of natural language processing and ethical AI.
